Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Success also indicates he has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
